Charlotte Howson
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Howson is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with adults and adolescents. With a background in attachment theory and emotional attunement, she strongly believes in the power of a therapeutic relationship built on connection, compassion, and trust. She brings a warm, thoughtful, and gentle presence to her work, creating a space where clients feel heard and deeply cared for.

Dr. Howson earned her master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology from George Washington University and has worked in a range of clinical settings, including community mental health, juvenile detention, crisis intervention, private practice, and Georgetown Hospital. These experiences shaped her belief that people’s struggles are rarely simple and that meaningful therapy needs to be flexible and responsive to each person’s unique experiences and current challenges.
Working in these diverse environments shaped her understanding that people’s struggles are rarely simple or one-dimensional, and that effective therapy must be responsive to each person’s history, strengths, and current life circumstances.

In her work, Dr. Howson focuses on helping clients understand the patterns that shape how they see themselves and relate to others, while also supporting practical changes in daily life. Therapy may involve building emotional awareness, strengthening communication, and finding new ways of responding to stress and relationship challenges. The goal is to support growth that feels meaningful and sustainable over time, not just short-term relief.
